More times than I can count, I’ve had customers notice the bottle of Ehlers on the bar and shout, “Ehlers, I love Ehlers…” Why? Because the wine is a stunning example of classic St. Helena Cabernet at a price that makes sense.  In grape growing, much as in real estate, location-location-location is absolutely essential.   And when your neighbors include the renowned “Aida” Vineyard, Turley and Revana, wine lovers should pay keen attention.  On the palate the 2015 is fuller, deeper and more structured than previous vintages and offers up a memorable core of cocoa dusted blackberries, tart black-cherry, gravely minerals and roasted coffee.  A rocking bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon at the winery’s $55 retail price, it shouldn’t be missed.

 

Expertly crafted by Kevin Morrisey whom previously made wine at Stags’ Leap Winery and Etude, the 2015 checks in with 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 8% Merlot, all sourced from the winery’s Estate Vineyard.
