SIXTEEN BY TWENTY
CABERNET SAUVIGNON
2016 NAPA VALLEY
Many of the top winemakers in the world whose wines can fetch hundreds of dollars per bottle and achieve 100 point scores, often consult on wines that are not only affordable, but they’re made with the same exacting standards. Sixteen by Twenty Cabernet is produced by Paul Hobbs, whose very name bears a quintessence of quality so distinguished that it’s known across the globe. At $60, this wine would have you grinning from ear-to-ear when you taste it, but at $45, well, you get the picture.
Paul composed the 2016 vintage with grapes from three vineyards. One is the winery’s Estate Vineyard located at the base of Mount Veeder, and another is one of Knight’s Valley’s most iconic vineyards, used in Beringer’s Knights Valley Reserve Cabernet for years; The third is a secret source in Coombsville.
Checking in at 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, and cut from one of Napa Valley’s most acclaimed vintages, the 2016 is powerful, explosive and strikingly sophisticated. The wine spent a full 24 months in French oak, and now with around 18 months in the bottle, it’s starting to shine brightly.

“The Sixteen by Twenty Napa Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 begins with a deep nose of rich blue and black berries, penetrating cherries, dark chocolate, bay leaf and supple leather. Although the palate is seemingly weightless, it has a focus and concentration that belies its elegant beginnings. Flavors of ripe blackberries and concentrated black cherries are so well integrated that it just begs you to keep tasting it. On a side note, we tasted this along side 30 other wines and it really stood out among the rest. The winemaking brilliance shows through with clarity.” 93 Points, Kevin M. Vogt, Master Sommelier
