Everybody loves being the guest that brings the best wine to the party… Even better is when the wine itself is contagiously fun and energetic.  Crocker & Starr’s new 2017 Bridesmaid White exudes those qualities and the 2017 is delightfully engaging, provocative and full of life.  The 2017 tosses a bouquet of sweet flowers and citrus leaves before waltzing down the aisle with exotic passion fruit, Island mango, honey drizzled pear, and orange zest.  This exciting blend is a collaboration of declassified barrels of premium wine lots, carefully selected from several of Napa Valley’s premier wineries after their own blends are complete.  The wine that makes it into the bottle often had an intended retail of more than double the price…
 
Bridesmaid was inspired through Pam Starr’s work at notables as Spottswoode and Gemstone and at under twenty per bottle, this is a delicious introduction to the wines of Crocker & Starr.  The blend consists of remarkably high-quality Sauvignon Blanc wed with a small amount of Semillon, adding a silkiness to the wine that’s simply mesmerizing. I strongly recommend stocking up on this gorgeous declassified jewel.

Almost as common as the name Jones, is the number of times Thomas Brown comes up in my emails.  With nearly two dozen perfect 100 Point wines, Thomas Brown is a dominating force in Cabernet Sauvignon and he’s truly at the top of his game. He made history as the first American winemaker to receive a perfect 100 Point score from the Wine Spectator, and he’s also the winemaker at Schrader, Revana, Maybach, Gemstone and Outpost to name a few.  It’s also not uncommon for Brown’s wines to trade for several hundred dollars per bottle and at under $100, the Jones Family The Sisters Cabernet got my attention…

Winery Notes: “The supple mouth feel and red-fruit core of the 2013 The Sisters makes it incredibly approachable early.  The color of this wine is a translucent deep garnet and aromas of rose oil, lavender, and mint emanate from the glass.  On the palate the wine is very round and fully reminiscent of a soft flower petal in feel and shape.  Notes of dark cherry, river stone, and jasmine are finely layered and framed by light tannin profile that provides just the right amount of structure.  This wine should be showing well for the next 5-7 years.”
